As suspected, our response to COVID-19 is changing.

As of today, Mount Rose Animal Hospital will be implementing a “Pets Only Policy”. This means that all owners need to remain outside of the building and in their cars. We will offer you “Curbside Service”. There may be exceptions made on a case-by-case basis. Please understand that this policy is meant to protect everyone- our clients and our staff. If we become sick, or exposed, and under self-quarantine, we will not be able to remain open and be of service to you. This is an extreme measure to observe social distancing during this pandemic and we are asking for your patience and support as we implement this policy.

It is imperative that we know if you or someone in your home has been sick or has recently traveled in areas with COVID-19, or has been placed on a quarantine. Please be forthright with this information.

Once you arrive at Mount Rose Animal Hospital- please call 775-853-8550 and let us know you have arrived. Please remain in your car with your pet. Our receptionist will be asking the make, model, and color of your car.

We will transfer you to one of our technicians/assistants who will take a brief history and discuss any concerns and questions you may have. The technician/assistants will then advise you that they are coming out and will meet you at our front door.

PLEASE HAVE YOUR DOGS ON A LEASH AND YOUR CATS/SMALL ANIMALS/EXOTICS IN A CARRIER. In addition to your leash, the technicians/assistants will be using a slip leash for your dog's safety (all dogs will be double leashed).

Once the veterinarian has reviewed the history and done a physical exam, they will call you and discuss things in more detail and present a plan to treat your pet with an estimate.

We will continue to communicate with you by phone as we report results and form a treatment plan.

All payments will be made over the phone if using a card. We are still accepting cash and checks.

We are truly sorry for this inconvenience, but feel it is the safest way to move forward during this pandemic.

As always we welcome your questions, concerns and comments.
