             Just as with Human Medicine, the depth and breadth of veterinary medicine has grown substantially over the last two decades.  As a result, daytime practitioners have access to a wealth of veterinary specialists for consultation and referral.  The doctors and staff at Mount Rose Animal Hospital recognize that these specialists are essential to being able to provide our clients with the highest standards of medical and surgical care.  In Reno alone, there are two board certified surgeons (Dr. Pelsue and Dr. Dearmin - Veterinary Specialists of Nevada), an ophthalmologist (Dr. Lavach – Eye Clinic for Animals) and a cardiologist (Dr. Hosking – Nevada Veterinary Cardiology).

 

             Additional specialists such as dermatologists, internal medicine specialists, neurologists and oncologists are just over the hill in Sacramento and at UC Davis Veterinary Teaching Hospital.
